Vivo S Flip, Vivo V Flip Could Be In The Works; EUIPO Trademark Filings Suggest
Powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, the Vivo X Flip debuted in China in April this year alongside the Vivo briefcase. Before there was an official confirmation, two mobile phones named Vivo V Flip and Vivo S Flip were spotted on the website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The upcoming phones could be direct competitors to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, it is unclear if the foldable devices will debut this year.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has applied to the EUIPO to register the Vivo S Flip and Vivo V Flip brands. As the names make clear, the company is working on a new foldable smartphone. The applications were submitted on August 8 with numbers 018911298 (Vivo S Flip) and 018911204 (Vivo V Flip). At the moment there is no more information about the foldable phones and it is not clear if the phones will be called Vivo S Flip and Vivo V Flip when they are officially launched.
The brands were discovered by various media outlets and independently verified by Gadget360. Vivo S Flip and Vivo V Flip are expected to directly follow models like Galaxy Z Flip 5, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, Oppo Find N2 Flip and the recently launched model. Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G.
The Vivo X Flip was launched in April as the company's first attempt at creating a foldable model. It is currently available in the Chinese market at a starting price of CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 71,600) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model.
Vivo has a 3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 682 x 422 pixels. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 internal storage. It features a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. It has a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. It is backed by a 4400 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.
