Elon Musk Confirms He And Grimes Privately Welcomed A Third Child, Techno Mechanicus
Elon Musk and Grimes welcomed their third child in person, the tech giant confirmed on Saturday via X (the Musk-owned social media platform formerly known as Twitter).
Musk confirmed the child's existence after a New York Times review of an upcoming biography of SpaceX co-founder Walter Isaacson mentioned the child. It was reported earlier that the billionaire and the Miss Anthropocene artist have a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter.
In X Edition, Musk says their youngest son is Tau Techno Mechanicus, but Isaacson's book states that the son's legal name is Techno Mechanicus Musk and his nickname is Tau.
According to an advance copy of the biography obtained by the Los Angeles Times, the child was born in June 2022 to a surrogate mother. The boy's nickname, Tau, "was inspired by the Greek letter for the irrational number pi," the biography explains. The estimated numerical value is 6.28, doubling Musk's birthday on June 28.

The revelation comes less than a week after Grimes responded to a post from X promoting Isaacson's biography and sharing a field photo of her two children. Later, the pop star deleted the reply. “Tell Elon to let me see my son or please tell my lawyer. Until now I have never been allowed to see pictures of these children, even though they have completely destroyed my family.'
Representatives for Grimes and X did not return requests for comment from The Times on Friday.
35-year-old Grimes and 52-year-old Musk in 2018-2022. The couple welcomed son X Æ A-Xi in May 2020 and daughter Exa Dirk Cederel in December 2021.
