Samsung Has Unveiled A Bunch Of New Energysaving Features For Its TVs
Samsung has announced a new AI power saving mode that will be available on several of its TVs.
This new power saving mode is said to reduce power consumption by 23% compared to standard modes. Statistics based on Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV 65QN800C.
This feature will work with the Samsung SmartThings app and will essentially act as a remote control for your entire house. The app works with Matter, a connectivity standard supported by more than 280 companies and a wide range of different products and devices.
The new AI power saving mode uses the TV's built-in processor and sensors to analyze the environment in real time and adjust appropriate power-saving settings accordingly.
SmartThings users can open the app, activate AI power saving mode, and their TV's processor will take care of the rest. The 3D map view also allows you to monitor and manage the power consumption of all supported devices, not just TVs.
The new power saving mode is based on two key principles: brightness adapted to the environment and brightness adapted to the content.
The Adaptive Ambient Brightness feature uses the TV's built-in light sensor to adjust the brightness of the screen to match the lighting conditions in your viewing environment.
Users can also take advantage of advanced motion sensors that automatically dim the screen if it detects no viewer activity for more than two hours.
Adaptive Content Brightness uses the TV's processor to analyze movement on the screen and dynamically adjust the brightness of scenes.
Samsung says the new AI power saving mode is available on Smart TV 2023 (CU7000 or later) and Lifestyle TV 2023 (LS03C).
