- HONOR introduced the Magic OS 8.0 UX operating system based on Android 14.

- However, HONOR has not revealed any details about the global launch.
Android 14 is the latest version of our favorite operating system and smartphone manufacturers are preparing to update the UX on the new platform. HONOR is the latest company to embrace Android 14 as it has now released Magic OS 8.0 based on Android 14.
HONOR offers “tilt-based UI” and platform-level AI integration in Magic OS 8.0 in China. Magic OS 8.0 also introduced MagicLM, HONOR's massive language model with seven billion parameters, optimized with the help of Qualcomm for smooth operation on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
What does intent-based UI mean? According to HONOR, Magic OS 8.0 provides services based on user intent rather than demand, interpreting speech, images, gestures and eye movements to proactively deliver services.
At the heart of the intent-based interface is the new Magic Portal feature, which HONOR describes as an intent-based shortcut recommendation feature that allows users to switch between apps and devices and access services.
For example, you can drag and drop reservations and reservation messages into navigation apps to automatically get directions to different locations. Magic Portal launches in China with over 100 popular apps.
MagicLM allows users to perform many AI tasks on the device, such as: Such as creating videos with natural language prompts, accessing personal assistant features, and more. Using AI, you can even find a specific image in the video based on your query.
Magic OS 8.0 also introduces system-wide Parallel Spaces, meaning you can now run two instances of each app (instead of just the ones listed). There is also a new ad blocker feature that removes intrusive pop-up ads.
HONOR has not yet announced the global release schedule of Magic OS 8.0 and the full range of changes. We will update this article as soon as we hear anything.
