Oppo Reno 12, Oppo Reno 12 Pro Key Specifications Leaked; Could Get 50Megapixel Telephoto Camera: Report
Oppo launched the Oppo Reno 11 and Oppo Reno 11 Pro less than a month ago. Now, a new report will reveal key specifications of its successor, the Oppo Reno 12 series. The details are said to come from a leaked internal document which claims the smartphone series could feature a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with optical zoom 2x. . The document also mentions that the handsets could hit the market in June 2024. However, the report does not mention the price of the devices.
The alleged leaked document was obtained by MSPowerUser, which revealed the key specifications of both the phones. Interestingly, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimension 9200 chipset, technically called the MTK DX2. However, this code is specific to the MediaTek Dimensity 9200. In contrast, the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 may be powered by the MKT 24M chipset, which is not compatible with any of the company's existing processors. We at Gadgets 360 have not had access to the alleged document and have not verified any of its claims.
According to the report, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro could feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and curved edges on a glass back panel. The smartphone may come with a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Other cameras include an 8-megapixel sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
On the front, there may be a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. The alleged document says the phone comes with 12GB of RAM and two internal storage options: 256GB and 512GB. It may be powered by a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support. IP65 protection rating is also mentioned in the document.
In contrast, the vanilla Oppo Reno 12 could sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the display specifications, the smartphone is said to have the same camera as the Pro variant. However, according to the report, one difference is that the front camera will not have autofocus. The device can have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging support.
According to the leak, it seems that the only two differences between the Oppo Reno 12 and the Oppo Reno 12 Pro are the chipset and the autofocus feature on the front camera. Another piece of information gleaned from the document is that the smartphones could be launched in June 2024. However, it must be said that the development cycle of the successor to the Oppo Renno 11 series is still at an early stage and a lot could still change before the phones launch .
