  • Chinese brand Vivo has confirmed the global launch details of the X100 series of phones.
  • The company said that the X100 series will be available in Asia, while Europe will only get the Pro model.
  • Prices and opening dates for these markets are yet to be announced.

Vivo launched the X100 and X100 Pro in China last month, the first phones to feature the new flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset. Fortunately, the company has announced the global launch details of the new flagship phones

Vivo has confirmed that the X100 series will be available in India, Indonesia and Southeast Asia. However, only the X100 Pro is available in the European market. We assume the phone will not be available in Germany due to a legal dispute with Nokia.

The Chinese brand did not confirm Indian or European pricing, but said the X100 will retail for HK$5,998 ($768). Meanwhile, the X100 Pro retails for HK$7,998 (~$1,024). Previous Pro and Pro Plus models sold for up to €1,300 in Europe. So don't be surprised if the X100 Pro hits this mark.

The two phones have some features like Dimensity 9300 chipset, 6.78 inch LTPO OLED panel and IP68 protection level. The Vivo X100 Pro is powered by a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired/50W wireless charging and a flexible triple rear camera setup. These cameras include a 1-inch 50MP IMX989 sensor, a 4.1x 50MP periscope camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The X100 Pro features a Cinema Portrait mode that may be the first true competitor to the iPhone's Cinema mode. That said, the mode has the ability to automatically switch focus between subjects, unlike the portrait video modes currently used on Android. Vivo also offers a sort of sun mode for capturing the sun with your periscope camera (shocker).

Meanwhile, the standard X100 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging (no wireless charging) and a minimal triple-camera setup. The rear has a 50MP IMX920 main camera, a 64MP 3x telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter.

We certainly hope that Vivo wastes no time in introducing these phones to the global market. Between the OnePlus 12, Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi 14 series, there will be no shortage of high-end flagship phones in early 2024.
