TECNO Unveils Future Star Initiative A Scholarship Scheme For STEM Students
At a memorable event attended by over 500 enthusiastic students, TECNO, an innovative technology giant, proudly launched the “TECNO Future Star Initiative” on October 18, 2023 at the ISSER Conference Hall. Developed in collaboration with the prestigious Faculty of Humanities of the University of Ghana, this innovative scholarship program aims to recognize and support the incredible talents of African students who are driving technological change with GHS100,000 in scholarships. This partnership with the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Ghana strengthens the initiative's academic credentials and ensures that the program reaches a broad and diverse student body.
To further ignite the spark of innovation and increase the power of technology, TECNO also highlighted the renovation of the Student Experience Center in the new Faculty of Humanities office. Equipped with flagship TECNO MegabookT1 laptops and various smart devices from the TECNO AIOT ecosystem, this special space will provide students with the opportunity to explore, learn and enjoy cutting-edge technology to promote creativity and innovation.
Under the theme “Empowering Pioneers”, the TECNO Future Star initiative demonstrates TECNO's ongoing commitment to developing the potential of Africa's youth and empowering the leaders of tomorrow. TECNO believes strongly in the transformative power of education and has one solid goal: to inspire and support young students who want to pursue a STEM major. TECNO recognizes that young African talents are the driving force behind the continent's technological advancements and that it is TECNO's responsibility to realize their dreams and realize their full potential.
Commenting on the launch of this important initiative, Mr. Ernest Sonkare, Director, TECNO National Channel said: “At TECNO, we recognize that African youth are the pioneers of tomorrow. We want to encourage students to achieve top performance in the MINT subjects. They push their limits and never stop striving for greatness. With the TECNO Future Star initiative, we aim to be a catalyst for change, a source of inspiration and a driving force for technological change in Africa.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Ghana, Professor Daniel Frimpong Ofori, took to the podium to thank TECNO for this groundbreaking partnership. In his speech, he hailed the initiative as evidence of TECNO's commitment to education and innovation. He emphasized that this partnership will make a significant contribution to the education of the College of Humanities by promoting academic growth and training the next generation of leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The dean thanked TECNO for its commitment to empowering students and improving the educational landscape in Africa. He noted that the partnership will undoubtedly help bridge the gap between academic excellence and real technological progress.
