Y20 Summit Commences

The G20-Youth Summit, organized by the Youth Department of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, kicked off on Thursday with a visit to the Supercomputing Center and Precision Engineering Center of the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University). The 20th annual delegates saw how this technology can be used to transform more applications, research findings, and critical business functions. The faculty of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) presented how the Center for Supercomputing has contributed to the development of scientific and technological research and development in the country.

This was followed by sessions and presentations organized by the Rudrakesh International Cooperation and Conference Center (RICCC) of the IIT (BHU). The show started with an overview of the ever-evolving IIT (BHU) and its key role in technical education to empower India. IIT (BHU) sessions also focused on ongoing research activities, recruitment, innovation, business incubation and startup culture. A cultural extravaganza filled with performances of classical music and dances like Garba, Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Bhangra was also presented by the talented students of IIT (BHU) as part of the programme.

Later in the evening, the delegates and participants were taken to Sarnath for a taste of Varanasi culture. The trip to Sarnath allowed them to experience the cultural aura of one of the world's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. In Sarnath, the delegates visited the Archaeological Museum, which displays Buddhist cultural treasures recovered from the site of Lord Buddha's "first sermon" at Mrigadayavan Monastery Park in Sarnath. The delegates visited the Sarnath Museum, which houses a collection of priceless Buddhist cultural treasures. The first day of the G20 Youth Summit ended with an exciting sound and light show narrating the profound life journey of Gautama Buddha.

Within the framework of the G20 presidency, the Youth Department of the Union Ministry of Youth and Sports is organizing the 20-2023 Youth Summit, which will be held in the city from August 17 to 20. The Youth G20 Summit brings together leading experts, policy makers, national and international representatives/representatives of G20 countries, invited countries and international organizations to discuss, finalize and sign the Youth G20 Statement. A few months have passed. The 20th Annual Statement will set out the core of our shared vision through the five themes identified for the 20th year, ensuring that the voices of young people are heard by policymakers at the highest levels.
