Vivo's X90 Flagship Phones Charge To 50 Percent In 8 Minutes

A few days after Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S23 smartphone lineup, Chinese manufacturer Vivo is here to rock the party. On Friday, the company launched Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, two powerful phones with a long and interesting list of features.

The X90 Pro is the stronger of the two, with a 6.78-inch curved screen (yes, Vivo is still making curved screens, even though Samsung has moved to flat pastures) with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 / Vivo V2 chip. Up to 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage space.

The phone has a massive 4870 battery with 120W wired charging and 50W charging. Charge the phone from 1% to 100% in 29 minutes. However, if you need more speed, you can upgrade to fast charging, which charges the X90 Pro from 1 to 50% in just eight minutes and 10 seconds.

The X90 Pro has an interesting camera setup, housed in a large circular camera hump on the back of the phone. The main one is the 50MP ZEISS camera, accompanied by a 50MP portrait camera and a 12MP wide-angle camera. Note that rather than opting for lots of optical zoom like Samsung does, Vivo focuses on portraits, which makes sense if you prefer shooting people over distant objects. The main camera should also be good, as it uses a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, which is the largest sensor in the mobile industry to date (the same sensor is used in the Xiaomi flagship 13 Pro, due for release in December 2022). ). On the front, you will find a 32MP front camera hidden in a hole in the middle.

Other notable features include IP68 dust and water resistance, dual stereo speakers, and a 24-layer liquid cooling system, which Vivo says is the largest of any of its phones. "XPro". The phone also has a black vegan leather back, which is meant to set it apart from the sea of glass-backed devices.

The X90 is exactly the same size and shares most of the specs with the X90 Pro, including the screen, processor and fast charging battery (no wireless charging here). The main difference is a less powerful camera, with a 12MP portrait camera replacing the 50MP module and design; The Vivo X90 has a glass back and is available in Breeze Blue and Asteroid Black colors.

Both phones run on Vivo Funtouch OS 13 which is based on Android 13.

Vivo X90 Pro will be available in Asia and Europe, while X90 will only be available in Asian markets.
