Launched in April this year, the Vivo X Fold is the company's first foldable smartphone. The Vivo X Fold+ followed in September and it was an iterative update. Neither phone has made it to the international market. Most likely, the Vivo X Fold 2 and its specs have just been leaked.
Vivo X Fold 2 will be launched next year and some of its specifications have been revealed.
The Vivo X Fold 2 could arrive in April next year if Vivo plans to stick with its release cycle. Both displays now have an in-display fingerprint scanner, according to the digital chat site. It would be easy to put them aside, but Vivo chose a different path.
The tip states that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which makes sense. Its predecessors used Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
On the back is Sony's IMX866 sensor, which is Sony's proprietary 50-megapixel camera sensor. The sensor seems to act as the main camera sensor of this phone.
The Vivo X Flip may come bundled with the Vivo X Fold 2.
Will now be labeled Vivo X Flip. This suggests that the company is also working on folding. Vivo has never released such a device, but its sister company OPPO has not.
The OPPO Find N2 Flip has just been launched and the first impression is great. Unlike the OPPO Find N2, this mobile phone will hit the international market in the first half of next year.
We're not sure if the Vivo X Flip will be anything like this phone, but we'll see. OPPO's vertical crease is slightly different from Vivo's, so it remains to be seen what will happen to Vivo's crease.
We'll no doubt have more information in the future, but it looks like Vivo could launch these two flexible variants next year. If we had to guess, we'd say the Vivo X Flip will launch alongside the Vivo X Fold 2. Note that the Vivo X Flip name hasn't been confirmed or anything.
