‘Theyre Using The Latest Technology From 1999: Tech Influencer Roasts Customer Who Still Runs Windows 2000 On Their Office Computers

A TikTok user went viral after seeing one of his client's computers in his office.

In the video, which has garnered more than 935,000 views, tech influencer Lotsplots showcases a variety of computers, each running an outdated Windows 2000 operating system.

lotsaplots says at the beginning of the video: "...using new technology since 1999."

The video shows many computers, including Dell and Hewlett-Packard computers One has a CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor.

"The operating system you're running is Windows NT 2000," Hewlett-Packard says of the machine. "And they're already using it! They already are."

Although the operating system is old, Microsoft supported it until 2010.

Also, there are fewer workstations running older operating systems. Citing a 2019 survey by networking company SpiceWorks, Forbes reported that "one in three companies surveyed still have at least one Windows XP machine running on their network."

Tik Tok followers shared their love for the video and submitted old show stories in the creative comments section.

One user wrote: "I have CPA running on Windows 98. I had to virtualize it on my Windows 10 PC and migrate it to the latest version."

Another added: "They were using XP to power all their factories so I left the challenge to make it permanent." "I can't see the future."

A third said, "I went home with Windows 95."

Another TikToker said: "I'm working on the 'latest' 911 running Windows 2000 on a phone PC by 2020."

While the video was entertaining, lotsaplot tiktokers shared their displeasure with working with such machines.

In the words of one user: "As a nostalgic PC geek, this is great. As technology, it's all a dream.
