Stock Android offers features long used in LG phones. This is the ability to quickly switch between connected Bluetooth devices with one touch. Now Android 13 will take this feature a step further. According to Esper, Android Audio Picker also shows your device for streaming.
If you have a Bluetooth device connected to your Android 13 phone, you'll see a button at the top right of the media player. When you tap on it, a window will appear with the connected device where you can play audio. You can play the audio through the connected device or your phone's speaker.
This feature is not ideal because it is not possible to switch devices if your media player is not visible. This means you won't be able to switch between audio devices if you're playing games. However, it is a very useful feature.
Sometimes you want to listen to music on a device other than a Bluetooth speaker. There are devices you can connect to via Chromecast. This includes some smart speakers, Nest Hub displays and other devices. If you want to listen to music on this device, you have to open the corresponding app and select the music or podcast you want to play.
However, Android 13 actually shows this device in the voice picker. This means that if you play something on a Bluetooth device, you can transfer the audio to the recording device with just one click.
So if you're listening to music with headphones but want to reset the volume on the Nest Hub in the kitchen, all you have to do is click Nest Hub in the audio selector and the audio will go through the hub. .
This is a trait that takes time to develop. While we expect Google to offer this feature for its first devices, third-party developers will need to add this feature to their devices.
