Interview: Billy Zhang, Vice President, Overseas Sales And Service At OPPO

They joined OPPO in 2015. It is in 2008. How do you see the company's growth over the years?
Since joining OPO, she has worked in various departments of the organization including manufacturing, research and development (R&D), sales and product line. Since OPPO celebrated its 18th anniversary this year and I have been with the company for 14 years, I can vouch that we have been able to develop new products that meet the needs of consumers over time. We have developed all over the world and are now represented in more than 60 markets. OPPO started its journey in the Middle East in 2018. In 2015, it is available in more than 20 markets in the region.

Focusing on market performance, OPPO achieved stable results in the first quarter of 2022. According to Canalys, OPPO achieved strong market growth as it remained the fourth largest smartphone brand in the Middle East and Africa. . OPPO has become the third largest smartphone brand in South Africa, a market we have been in for some time, with a year-on-year growth of 128 percent. OPPO ranked third in the UAE with a market share of 7 percent.

From the beginning, we have recognized that innovation and technology are key to the sustainable growth of our business. Therefore, we stick to our strategy and invest heavily in research and development.

OPPO will reportedly stop adding chargers to some smartphones in the future. for what
OPPO focuses on sustainability and environmental protection. Since transformers use many specific materials, eliminating chargers can help reduce carbon emissions. For example, our smartphone cases are made from over 85% recycled materials and have battery life that is more than double industry standards.

Can you tell us more about the Reno8 series and IoT products?
Our latest Reno lineup includes three 5G models – Reno8 Pro 5G, Reno8 5G and Reno8 Z 5G. Additionally, we launched three new IoT products - OPPO Pad Air, OPPO Band 2 and OPPO Enco Buds2.

The Reno8 Pro 5G is the first imaging NPU developed by OPPO in-house, equipped with Maricellison X. It also offers an improved integrated design, smoother operation and overall experience thanks to ColorOS 12.1. The Reno series also has two leading Sony sensors capable of taking portraits. Smartphones are slim and lightweight, providing a fast and secure user experience.

In terms of IoT products, the OPPO Pad Air has an extremely thin body and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 mobile platform: the 10.36-inch 2K resolution screen brings advanced display capabilities to the highest level. Meanwhile, the Inco Buds2 have 28 hours of battery life for calls with built-in noise cancellation, a camera remote, and crystal clear audio. The Band 2 also offers users a 1.57-inch full-screen display and multiple sports modes.

Finally, I can say that we are committed to improving the user experience with each product release.

How do you plan to support 5G marketing in the region?
We are committed to increasing the use of 5G technology and are constantly limiting the speed. We have invested heavily in them and are implementing them into low and mid-priced products. We also work closely with the best telecom service providers in Europe and the Middle East.
