OnePlus has announced the key features of the Nord Watch

After months of leaks, OnePlus launched its first Nord-branded smartwatch last week, the OnePlus Nord Watch. Unlike the OnePlus Watch, the Nord Watch is rumored to be a budget offering focused on fitness tracking. The wearable will officially launch in the next few days, but OnePlus has already revealed its key features. This is typical of the company as it helps create more buzz around the device.

The official OnePlus Nord Watch page confirms that the wearable will have a 1.78-inch 60Hz AMOLED display with 500 nits of brightness. There will be 105 sport modes including yoga and cricket tracking. For customization, OnePlus will give the watch access to more than 100 watch faces. However, they will not be pre-installed on the device. Instead, you need to download it from the N Health companion app which is available for iOS and Android.

Leaked images of the OnePlus Watch retail box (via 91Mobiles) have revealed more details. The watch will weigh 54 grams and will have buttons on the right side for navigational purposes. It looks like the digital crown of the Apple Watch, but it's unclear if it will spin. The watch is priced at 6,999 rupees ($93) in the box. It will likely be cheaper than that, selling for around 4,999 rupees ($65), a price that has been rumored for months. And the low price means the Nord Watch won't work with Wear OS. Instead, expect to have LiteOS like any other wearable in this price range.

The original OnePlus Watch was a huge flop and was widely criticized for its poor experience. Since then, the company has dabbled in fitness bands, but they've also been weak. Whether OnePlus learns from its mistakes with the Nord Watch remains to be seen.
