Apple Maps In IOS 16: These New Features Will Improve How You Travel

Ios 16 Adds New Features To Apple Maps On Your Iphone Cnet

This story is part of Focal Point iPhone 2022, CNET's collection of news, tips, and advice on Apple's most popular products.

The iPhone 14 wasn't the only thing Apple announced at the Far Out event. We also know that iOS 16 will be released on Monday. With the latest software update, Apple Maps on iPhone is getting several new features. Some of the upcoming features include high-resolution images for apps like Zillow and new tools for developers to make finding Bird scooters and bikes easier.

Along with this update, Apple announced that it will roll out redesigned maps to 11 more countries later this year. These features include bike paths and Look Around, a new 3D city experience.

New changes to Apple Maps were introduced with the release of iOS 16, which also includes a new Messages feature that lets you undo and edit text. Check out all the exciting new features that come with iOS 16 to learn more.

Multistop router is coming to iPhone

This may change if you frequently use Google Maps for features that Apple Maps does not have. The big update for the iPhone is called omnidirectional routing. Apple says it's one of the "most requested features."

With this new feature, you can now schedule up to 15 stops on your iPhone. You can also start planning your trip on your Mac and send it to your iPhone when you're ready to go. Maps saves your previous routes in Recents to make them easier to find when planning your trip.

First, open the Maps app on your iPhone and enter your first destination. To add more stops, click Add Stop and enter your next destination. For example, you could first enter the coffee shop you want to leave, then enter your business address.

If you're driving and need to add additional stops, you can ask Siri to add them to your route. This can help remove distractions to keep you focused on the road.

Added new transportation features

Whether you take public transportation to work or eat late at night, Apple is adding new features to make your commute more comfortable. You can see how long your trip is.

You can also add new transit maps to your Apple Wallet app from Apple Maps. When your public transport card balance is running low, you'll get a notification so you can top it up without leaving the Maps app. All that's left is to hit the Reload button.

For more information, read how to install iOS 16 beta on your iPhone now, but make sure to uninstall iOS 16 before downloading it to your phone. Also check out the new lock screen customization of iOS 16.

You have to change the iOS 16 settings on the first day.
