Wingstop has a new CIO as the chain prepares to switch from Olo to its own online ordering system.

The Dallas-based chain on Thursday named Chris Fallon senior vice president and chief information officer responsible for leading the company's business and restaurant technology solutions, IT infrastructure and information security at the 2,099-unit chain.

Most recently, Fallon served as director of information technology at Fortune Brands Water Innovations, where he led the Moen and House of Rohl businesses. But he also worked at Starbucks, where he was responsible for technology for national, corporate, franchise and consumer stores.

"Wingstop's single business segment is powered by our technology development strategy and commitment to digitalize every transaction," Wingstop CEO Michael Skipworth said in a statement. "Having Chris on the team will strengthen our strong foundation and take our technology solutions for businesses and restaurants to the next level."

In the third quarter, Wingstop reported that about 67% of sales came from digital channels.

Earlier this year, Wingstop announced plans to ditch Olo's online ordering technology next year and switch to its own $50 million system called My Wingstop, which has been in development for three years.

"Wingstop is committed to growth and I'm excited to be joining us at such a dynamic time for the brand," said Fallon. "Wingstop has proven itself as a technology leader, and I look forward to this journey as the best-in-class team continues to expand globally." »
