Humane Ai Pins Laser Display Looks Tedious To Navigate With A Smartwatchesque UI [Video]

I think the color laser display is the most interesting part of Humane Ai, why the small font on the pin, but it looks so boring to scroll.

Besides voice and gestures on a flat surface, another way to interact with the Humane Ai Pin is through the 720p display on your wrist. Move your hand up/down/left/right to highlight a button to navigate the screen, then bring your thumb and index finger together to tap/click. (Close your hand to return to the home screen.)

A video from co-founder and CEO Bethany Bongiorno shows off much of the user interface. We see something similar to the Pentagon-hosted app launcher, with LTE connection status and battery percentage displayed at the bottom.

Opening the Messages app lets you send a new message or "view recent messages." We'll see you tilt your hand to select a contact, then tap Voice Write. There is also an option to open "suggested" posts with additional scrolling. After selecting one, check it and click enter.

It takes about 14 to 15 seconds to open the messaging app. The screen size is more or less the same as a smart watch. Its advantage is a large surface that covers the entire palm and allows you to increase the distance between the buttons. But that doesn't solve the problem of the user interface on small screens not being able to handle a lot of information or buttons, so it requires "taps" and scrolling instead of a phone. Meanwhile, the tilt and finger interaction method doesn't seem any better than touch.

Before the official announcement, I thought you could use your other hand/finger to touch your palm and interact that way, but that seems to turn off the projection.

The Humane Ai Pin will go on sale early next year.
