Google Keep Text Formatting Officially Rolling Out On Android [U]

More than a year since we first saw the preview, Google Keep for Android has finally introduced the text format.

Update August 24th . Google has officially announced a rich text format for "New Vault Notes" and existing notes will receive it "in the coming weeks."

This much-requested feature allows you to customize and highlight text with bold, underline, italics, and heading styles.

To date, we have yet to see its implementation: it is

• available to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google accounts.

Annotations toolbar displays a new underlined 'A' after the 'Advanced' and 'Background' options. A panel will open starting with Heading 1 (H1), Heading (H2) and by default "Aa". on the Play Store, but there is a server component that makes it available. We don't see it yet on some of the devices we tested today. Note that this will be available first for

new entries and then for existing ones. The sign-in message only applies to the Android app. It

was always intended as an option for users who wanted it, but one of the attractions of Google Keep is its simplicity. We expect text pasted from other sources to display correctly.
