Tecno presented its first laptop at IFA, now the company is launching something more premium: Tecno MegaBook S1. This laptop is extremely thin and light with a thickness of 13.5 mm (0.53 inches) and a weight of 1.35 kg (2.97 lbs). It's small for a 15.6-inch laptop, but the magnesium alloy construction provides a solid chassis.
The 15.6-inch screen has a resolution of 3.2K with an aspect ratio of 16:10. It's a high-quality panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. Flicker-free experience with DC dimming.
A few months ago, the MegaBook T1 was equipped with an 11th generation Intel processor. The S1 has been upgraded to a 12th Gen Core i7 (35W TDP) with dual fan cooling. As storage you can choose between 512 GB and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, RAM in any case 16 GB (LPDDR5).
Despite its low weight, the laptop has a large 70 Wh battery. For charging, it uses one of two USB-C ports and the included 65W GaN charger. Additionally, there are two USB-A ports, a full-size HDMI, a 3.5mm jack, and a microSD card reader.
The Megabook S1 comes with Windows 11 out of the box and some special technical features. For example, there is the NFC which allows you to quickly connect a Tecno phone and view its screen on a laptop screen thanks to the OneLeap function.
The sharp and crisp color screen promises a great multimedia experience and the speakers back it up - Tecno managed to install 6 speakers and add DTS:X Ultra support. There are two built-in microphones with artificial noise reduction for calls. The built-in webcam also has Smart AI, which can detect when someone is looking over your shoulder and turn off the screen.
The Tecno MegaBook S1 will arrive in select markets in two configurations: 512GB of storage for $1,500 and 1TB of storage for $1,600 (i.e. €1,425/€123,500 and €1,520/€131,500 respectively).
