Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Performance Scores Way Below IPhone 14 Pro, New Leak Shows

an important aspect

  • The iPhone 14 Pro has 1887 single-core and 5484 multi-core points.
  • The iPhone 13 Pro has a single-core score of 1707 and a multi-core score of 4659.
  • The test device achieves 1521 points in the single-core test and 4689 points in the multi-core test.

Performance and other details about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, potentially the next high-end flagship from the South Korean tech giant, have been leaked online by Geekbench, a benchmarking site for multi-platform computer processors. It falls behind Apple's iPhone 14 Pro based on the device's single-core and multi-core scores.

After the Samsung Galaxy S23 Geekbench score leaked a few days ago, another leak has appeared on the internet, this time apparently for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Listings on cross-platform comparison sites show that the S23 Ultra has a chipset called "Kalama" and a 1+2+2+3 CPU configuration.

Previous rumors have said that the premium device will run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with a main core clocked at 3.36GHz based on the Geekbench listing. The test device achieves 1521 points in the single-core test and 4689 points in the multi-core test.

That's an impressive leap for a Samsung device, as the Galaxy S22 Ultra scored 1,240 in the single-core test and 3,200 in the multi-core test. Also, the Geekbench listing showed that the Samsung device has 8GB of RAM, although it's safe to assume that its retail version will bring 12GB of RAM.

In addition, the said device runs on the Android 13 operating system, probably OneUI. While that sounds like a huge improvement over Samsung's Ultra range, the results are less impressive than the stiff competition, which also fares significantly better.

Last month, the iPhone 14 Pro's Geekbench listing showed a single-core score of 1,879 and a multi-core score of 4,664. The old-gen iPhone 13 Pro scored 1,707 single-core and 4,659 multi-core. But the iPhones run on the faster A16 chip, with a score of 1,887 single-core and 5,484 multi-core, according to the latest Geekbench tests.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is much higher than the score of the iPhone 14 Pro. It should be noted that smartphones are about more than pure speed and benchmarks show more than excellent performance.
