How To Watch The New Galaxy Smartphones Get Revealed At Samsung Unpacked On January 17
It's time for the first Samsung Unpacked event of the year. We're almost guaranteed to get the first official details about the Galaxy S24 smartphone, which will almost certainly be equipped with AI-powered features. Samsung Unpacked will be available to watch on January 17 at 1:00 pm ET on the company's website or YouTube channel.
Samsung hasn't been too subtle with the Unpacked deck. The company has featured something called Galaxy AI for mobile devices in several commercials.
Yes, it's safe to say that AI will be the centerpiece of the show. In November, Samsung introduced its Gauss generation of artificial intelligence models. They can handle things like translation, encoding support, and text-to-image conversion. The S24 series is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which will be able to handle a variety of on-device AI requests. This way, at least some GAI features won't have to go through the cloud, meaning they should be developed faster.
When it comes to new smartphones, there probably won't be any hardware changes, barring technical issues. However, according to the leaked specifications, the S24 Ultra is expected to have a completely flat display and a titanium body. If you're unsure about the availability of the new Galaxy phones, Samsung already has a pre-order page for the new Galaxy phones.
It's less clear whether we'll see devices other than smartphones at the event, although some rumors point to a Galaxy Fit 3 fitness tracker and/or a Galaxy Book Pro laptop. Since we're a Samsung company, there's at least a small chance of seeing new tablets, smartwatches, and headphones.
