Tecno Phantom V Flip Confirmed: Here's When The Fascinating Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Rival Will Launch
There have been a lot of rumors and leaks about Tecno's next foldable phone, but now we have confirmation that it is not only real but will also be available soon.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G is a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, but features a unique design with a circular display on the front and a camera placed around the outer ring.
Tecno itself told T3 that it will launch the Phantom V Flip in Singapore on Friday, September 22, 2023.
The event, dubbed “Flip in Style,” will feature not only the company’s new phone but also a 14-inch laptop. We don't know much about the Tecno Megabook T1 at the moment, but we'll tell you more when it launches.
As for the Phantom V Flip, Tecno has stated that it is part of its "premium" strategy, but nothing else is currently available.
Previous leaks suggested that the phone will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor and 8GB of RAM, in addition to an attractive front display. There is also expected to be 256GB of internal storage on board.
We don't have any exact information about the internal display, but it should be at least 6.75 inches in size and have an FHD+ resolution. The refresh rate is 144Hz, making it suitable for both gaming and general use.
In images posted by the case maker on Alibaba's retail site, camera lenses could be seen surrounding the display cover. Apparently there are two cameras and a separate sensor, but this has not been confirmed.
The main camera is said to have a resolution of 64MP, but not much information can be gleaned from what we've seen so far.
Tecno recently announced that it has launched a foldable phone concept – Tecno Phantom Ultimate. There was also praise for the Phantom V Fold, which competes with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 but costs less.
