India, Jan 27 – Redmi A2 series is expected to launch as soon as popular tweeter Mukul Sharma tweets about BIS certification for Redmi A2 series. BIS certification is India's leading and recognized certification for smartphones and devices. Like its predecessors, the Redmi A2 series could have two phones, the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+.

Redmi is Xiaomi's budget range that offers access to mid-range smartphones. Redmi phones are very popular and successful in India. In September last year, it launched the Redmi A1 series, which includes the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+. Redmi A1 is still among the top 10 sellers on Amazon. Unfortunately, there is still not much information about the Redmi A2 series, but it will be released in the coming days.

Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ Specifications
Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ are powered by Mediatek Helio A22 (12nm) and run on Android 12OS. Both the phones are available in two variants; 2GB 32GB and 3GB 32GB.
Both the phones share the same camera setup, with a dual-camera setup at the back with an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 0.08-megapixel depth sensor for portraits.
The display specifications of both the phones are also similar. They have a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.
Both phones also pack a 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. But the only visible difference in the phone is that the Redmi A1 does not have a fingerprint sensor and the Redmi A1+ does. However, all the technical specifications between these two phones are the same.
