Vivo is definitely gearing up for 2022 when it comes to the flagship segment. The company recently launched the Vivo X Fold S in the foldable segment with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The company is also developing new flagship iQOO 11 series phones and they are almost ready. Apparently, the brand still has plans for the mid-range segment with the launch of the Vivo S16 and S16 Pro in the near future.
A few days ago, two new mobile phones passed the 3C platform certification. According to a new report, these two devices are Vivo S16 and Vivo S16 Pro. They bear the model numbers V2244A and V2245A. Both phones are listed as 5G ready with support for 80W fast charging at 3C. This is an interesting detail considering that 80W charging is currently available on Vivo flagships. The company is raising the bar for its mid-range phones by including 80W charging on the Vivo S16 series.
The specifications of the Vivo S16 series are questionable
As usual, the 3C certification doesn't reveal much when it comes to specs. But the transition of the phone means that Vivo is moving stealthily to launch the new phone. It may appear in December or early 2023. Along with Vivo S16 and S16e, we can also expect a third model called Vivo S16e. This device will pass other certifications like TENAA. We'll know more about the specs once they pass TENAA.
This phone will directly replace the Vivo S15e, S15 and S15 Pro. This phone has Exynos 1080, Snapdragon 870 and Dimensity 8100. According to speculations, Vivo S16 may take the Snapdragon 870 a step further into the mid-range category. The S16 Pro, on the other hand, may carry the Dimensity 8200 SoC. Finally, Vivo S16 will come with Dimensity 1080. This phone will be available in Black, Blue and Purple colors. We may also see the return of color changing for the next generation.
The three variants of Vivo S16 are very important for global customers as well. The devices expected to launch globally are Vivo V26, V26 Pro and V26e. However, we don't expect the next-generation V-Series until the first quarter of 2023.
