In October, Samsung launched Camera Assistant in beta as a Good Lock module for the Galaxy S22 series that allows you to adjust some important camera settings. These include disabling Auto HDR, prioritizing faster shutter speeds, disabling Auto Lens Shift, and more. includes. It's rare for Android smartphone manufacturers to release this type of camera setup to end users, so it's a welcome move by Samsung. The Korean giant has now confirmed that the availability of Camera Assistant will be extended to other Galaxy devices once the app exits beta.

On the South Korean company's forum, a Samsung community moderator announced that new models with Camera Assistant support will be announced after the beta period. It is not yet clear when the beta version of the program will end. Samsung has been known to beta test the Good Lock module for several months, and its stable release usually coincides with the release of its flagship product. Therefore, the stable build of the camera assistant will probably be released closer to the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, which should happen in a few months.

Camera Assistant is currently compatible with the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. Samsung managed to match the app with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, as most of these phones have similar camera features. The company followed a similar strategy with its specialized RAW software initially working with the Galaxy S21 Ultra before expanding to several other Galaxy phones, including 2020 flagships like the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra.

If you're using a Galaxy S22 now, download Camera Assistant from the Galaxy Store to get more control over the phone's camera. Unlike other Good Lock modules, Camera Assistant is a standalone application and does not require the main Good Lock software to be installed.
